Corrupted cache files can make this worse. Instead of loading clean data, the app repeatedly tries to reuse damaged temporary files, which slows rendering and causes interface lockups.
Step-by-Step Fixes
Restart the Pinterest App Completely
Simply minimizing the app isn’t enough. Close it from the recent apps screen so it fully stops running, then reopen it. This clears temporary memory usage and often restores smooth navigation immediately.
Clear App Cache
On Android:
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps → Pinterest
- Select Storage
- Tap Clear Cache
This removes temporary image files without deleting your account data.
On iPhone, cache clearing isn’t manual. You’ll need to reinstall the app instead (covered below).
Reduce Background Apps
